POSITION GOAL
To oversee the scheduling of equipment and manpower for effective utilization; to monitor financial operations of the Capital Budgets; to
determine technical operations, financial needs, and develop and implement systems and procedures to meet those needs.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Capital Budget Analyst V shall carry out the performance responsibilities listed below.
- Establish a system of effectively scheduling work requirements for maximum utilization of all maintenance and operations personnel - maintain and administer this system on a daily on-going basis.
- Assist in determining the financial needs of the departments and assist in the preparation of Departmental Budgets to be submitted to the School Board.
- Monitor, analyze, and amend departmental budgets
- Recommend changes in the operational systems and procedures; assist and coordinate the developing, guiding, and implementing of new procedures and systems.
- Approve all requisitions and check requisitions of the Departments, verifying coding requirements.
- Control the issuance of work order numbers and review charges to work orders and amend when appropriate.
- Prepare the work order system journal vouchers.
- Analyze current paper flow to improve the level of documentation and internal controls.
- Perform and promote all activities in compliance with the equal employment and non-discrimination policies of The School Board of Broward County, Florida.
- Participate in training programs offered to enhance the individual skills and proficiency related to job responsibilities.
- Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibilities.
- Ensure adherence to safety rules and procedures.
- Follow federal and state, as well as School Board policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or designee.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- An earned bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience and / or training in the field related to the title of the position.
- Computer skills as required for the position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Preferred degree majors include accounting, finance, public administration, or related field.
- Prefer eight (8) years of experience in accounting, budgeting and planning, preferably in a governmental agency; or five (5) years of successful experience within the Budget, Accounting, or Management Audits Department of Broward County School District.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
