Description of Work Unit : The Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President at Colorado State University seeks a strategic, creative academic leader, a champion of undergraduate education and student success, to serve as the Vice Provost and Dean for Undergraduate Affairs.

Position Summary : The Vice Provost and Dean for Undergraduate Affairs (VPDUA) is first and foremost a passionate champion of undergraduate education and student success.

The VPDUA is a key member of the Provost and Executive Vice President’s leadership team, with the primary responsibilities of providing student-centered, academic, strategic, and operational leadership for all initiatives supporting undergraduate education and campus-wide student success programs.

This individual leads the enhancement of academic programs including program review, assessment of student learning, advising initiatives, and development of new academic programs.

They provide support for campus leadership for reaccreditation. The VPDUA assists the Provost / EVP in building collaborative networks across the University to support undergraduate student success, degree completion, high-impact practices, and general education throughout the undergraduate experience.

Required Job Qualifications :

  • Ph.D. or relevant terminal academic degree from an accredited institution.
  • Rank of professor with tenure earned at an R1 university and eligible for tenure in an academic department at CSU. Advanced associate professors (5+ years at an R1) may be considered.
  • Seven or more years of academic, higher education leadership experience at an R1 university at the department, college, or university level.

Preferred Job Qualifications :

  • Ten or more years of progressive experience in higher education.
  • Rank of full professor.
