Description
Position Summary :
Transport goods and materials within the plant and load / unload trailers in a safe, efficient manner.
Responsibilities :
- Collect the finished product pallets from the production exit lines and transfer them to the authorized warehouses.
- Locate the pallets in the warehouses (final or intermediate) and record the location in the system.
- Carry out the loading of pallets in the warehouses for dispatch, according to the loading orders and recording the movements in the system. (if applicable).
- Keep the warehouse tidy and organized, with loads within the established limits.
- Unload and distribute deliveries.
- Assess condition of strapped bales and communicate any quality concerns before loading into trailers.
- Maintain all equipment in good working condition. inspect regularly and report any issues immediately.
- Demonstrate health and safety understanding and compliance.
- Understand and follow all operational procedures.
- Work a flexible schedule if needed for coverage.
- Work effectively as a team player. Communicate well at all levels, share ideas and contribute to the team effort.
- Take the initiative to problem solve, challenge, and improve to deliver the agreed targets.
- Generate innovative solutions to work situations.
- Comply with the company Safety, Hygiene and Environmental rules.
- Undertake regular safety observations.
- Participate in risk assessments.
- Participate in customer complaint investigations with regards to shipping.
- Comply and operate within the Health and Safety at Work regulations by maintaining own personal safety and that of other team members.
- Contribute to the overall profitability of the site by minimizing waste while processing loads.
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping within the plant to increase productivity and prevent accidents.
- Communicate with Shipping Manager and other team members as required.
- Ensure compliance with the Procedures, Guidelines and Work Instructions in force at all times, as well as other relevant company documentation.
Minimum requirements
- Prior experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment, preferably in the corrugated board packaging field.
- Basic computer skills.
- Professional approach, demonstrating flexibility and ownership.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm and self-starter attitude.
