What Impact You'll Make : Are you exited at the opportunity to electrify and decarbonize the world? Aero engineering executes designs on a full portfolio of new product introduction (NPI), reliability & maintainability (RAM), product cost out initiatives (PCO), customized requisitions, and services and customer support.

Projects include design of all mechanical components and system integration of aeroderivative packages like fuel system design, auxiliary skids, synthetic and mineral lube oil system design, enclosures, piping, and all other necessary process systems that support the operation of the aeroderivative gas turbine.

Mechanical system-level and detailed component design may span all Aero equipment including design and structural interpretation of heavy structures, piping, inlets, exhausts, enclosures, bases, building / foundations, and plant layouts.

Job Description

What you'll do :

  • Familiarize himself / herself with Aero products
  • Work on assignment / projects within engineering & technology to stretch your learning and skillset.
  • Report progress and status to project management.
  • Perform rough estimates of time required to implement features to resolve issues, helping task prioritization.
  • Use your academic knowledge to complete assigned projects, deliver positive outcomes, and contribute to the success or out team.
  • Provide support to assigned projects using engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.

Internship Term Dates :

September - December 2025

Expected Work Schedule :

Day / 1st -Shift (40 - hours weekly)

What you'll bring (basic qualifications) :

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (without rounding)
  • Working towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in a technical field of study in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Enrolled in a full time matriculated and nationally accredited program
  • Completed at least two full years of college.

Other Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Must be willing to work in geographical area specified by the business
  • Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship

The pay for this position ranges from $21.00 / hr - $34.00 / hr based on years of undergrate / graduate field of study completed

This position is also eligible for :

Relocation Assistance : Co-op / Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school / home upon completion of the assignment.

Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.

  • Housing Allowance : Co-op / Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op / Intern's permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
  • Employee Assistance Program , providing 24 / 7 confidential assessment, counseling and referral services
  • GE Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after their accumulated service reaches 90 days, and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans.
