Job Title : Design Project Manager
Responsibilities :
- Work closely with Kemp’s preconstruction team and our Director of Design Build.
- Lead the design phase of construction projects, collaborating with architects, engineers, and clients to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure design deliverables meet project requirements, codes, and standards.
- Manage the design process from conception to completion, including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
- Facilitate communication between design teams, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of design and construction activities.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Conduct regular design reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with project specifications and client expectations.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative design culture within the organization, promoting continuous improvement and excellence in design execution.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for design-related inquiries, clarifications, and change requests throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior design team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including design revisions, correspondence, and approvals, to support project transparency and accountability.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in design build and preconstruction.
- Understanding of design and preconstruction sides of construction.
- Proven experience as a design project manager in the construction industry, with a strong track record of successful project delivery.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, building codes, and regulations, with a keen eye for detail and quality.
- Leadership abilities with a focus on team collaboration, creativity, and results-driven performance.
- PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
