GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general supervision of the Chief of Operations and Capital Planning, performs routine plumbing maintenance tasks, analyzes and, under supervision, corrects plumbing problems at all Department facilities, and services plumbing equipment as directed and is subject to assignment by the Chief of Operations and Capital Planning.
Perform related work and duties as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform preventative maintenance on fixtures, drain lines, etc.;
- Assemble, install, maintain, repair and replace pipes and fittings including hot water, drainage and sanitary systems;
- Inspect, repair and replace fixtures, drain lines, etc. including backflow prevention devices, mixing valves and floor drains;
- Keeping accurate inventory and ordering supplies as needed via computer databases;
- Coordination with external vendors and suppliers where needed;
- Flexibility and ability to learn and perform new duties and skills as assigned;
- Complies with all written policies and procedures; and
- Performs other duties and assignments as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Journeyman licensure preferred;
- Knowledge of, compliance with, and enforcement of Department, as well as Operations / Capital Planning Division, policies preferred;
- Experience with Windows 10, Microsoft Office;
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to interact with the public in a pleasant and discreet manner. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels throughout the organization, in other agencies, and in private industry.
- High levels of customer service, independence, leadership and willingness to write and maintain documentation. Must perform duties with a high degree of confidentiality;
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and to work with co-workers and consultants. Self-motivator, ability to meet project deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously and ability to prioritize issues is essential;
- Ability to complete moderate to complex level of qualitative and quantitative analyses. Strong analytic and problem solving skills are required.
Ability to write effectively and maintain technical documentation. Attention to detail is crucial. Need for creativity, flexibility and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain accurate records; and
Ability to recognize project or administrative problems and to recommend solutions to improve efficiency.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for periods of at least eight (8) hours;
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds;
- Ability to climb in overhead structures, work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work;
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding;
- Ability to do overhead work; and
- Ability to effectively communicate with others.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION
Participation in mandatory training.
