Job Description and Duties

THIS POSITION MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE. THE AMOUNT OF TELEWORK IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE DEPARTMENT AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS BUSINESS NEEDS ARISE.

Under the close supervision of the Tax Administrator I, the Tax Compliance Representative (TCR) performs a mixture of routine and complex compliance assignments.

Use of judgment and knowledge of statutes, regulations, and compliance procedures is required to resolve delinquent tax liabilities and / or delinquent tax returns.

Resolving case assignments may involve contact with the employer or the employer's representative by telephone, written correspondence, field calls or utilization of other collection tools such as 1733 / 1735 investigations, issuance of warrants, etc.

The TCR should possess basic skills in the use of a personal computer or laptop with Microsoft Software applications (i.

e., Word, Outlook, Excel), as well as the various automated systems used within Collection Division.

This position is headquartered in Anaheim and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute.

Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.

Occasional travel is required for Field Calls, which on rare occasions includes an overnight stay.Rare travel may be required for training or meetings, which rarely may require overnight stays.
