Associate Engineer I (Adjuvant Development)

Biotechnology company is hiring a contract Associate Engineer I to support Formulation Development. You will support the adjuvant engineer in large experimentation and execution of adjuvant manufactures.

Additionally, you will prepare materials, execute adjuvant development studies, manufacture small-scale batches, and characterize the batches produced to achieve desired results.

You will also support the broader team (Drug Product) such as analytical and process development groups. This is a 6-month contract to start with a potential for an extension.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing reagents / materials (buffers, solutions), independently manufacturing adjuvants, and perform drug product manufactures.
  • Responsible for characterizing batches of adjuvants with analytical validation assays and performing data analysis (Prism, JMP, etc.).
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting in a laboratory setting. Being scientifically accurate and keeping excellent written records of experiments undertaken.
  • Support senior scientists in execution of experiments, running assays, interpreting data as needed and preparing buffers and lab reagents for use in manufacturing and testing activities.
  • Work with colleagues in ordering lab supplies, new vendor setup, and inventory management of consumable and stability samples.

Qualifications

  • BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Organic / Biochemistry, Chemical / Biochemical Engineering, Biology.
  • Prior knowledge of vaccines, basic chemistry, and nanoparticles preferred.
  • Experience in particle characterization techniques (Zeta potential, DLS, ELS, etc) and willing to learn new techniques.
  • Experience in manufacture of buffers, pipetting, and lab reagents required.
  • Experience in Prism, JMP, Benchling and additional laboratory record keeping / data analysis preferred.
  • Highly efficient and structured work practices including practical laboratory work, notebook upkeep and general record keeping.
  • Experience in Prism, JMP, ELN (Benchling) and additional laboratory record keeping / data analysis preferred.
  • An understanding of analytical statistical analysis is also preferred.
  • $35.00-$40.00 / hr
