RESPONSIBILITIES :
- The Food Safety Quality Manager is responsible for all Quality and Food Safety programs such as Kosher, Organic, Pest control, Sanitation verification, Environmental monitoring, Allergen control, foreign material control etc.
- Responsible for audits, shipping and receiving documents and mock trace exercises
- Must coordinate with research and development team to administer the manufacturing testing, retention program and documentation of raw material, WIP, and finished product specifications
- Must serve as a SQF Practitioner
- The Food Safety Quality Manager must coordinate and manage HACCP Plan and all other Food Safety and Quality Programs
- Coordinate with laboratories when testing or research is external
- Must partner with regulatory agencies and firms such as FDA, ODA, USDA / Organic, and Kosher for third party auditors
- Perform audit and ensure manufacturing understanding and compliance with safe food products, specifications, and work instructions
- The Food Safety Quality Manager is responsible for up-to-date quality procedures and programs and document the same in QA manual, Food Safety Plan(s), and / or HACCP Plans
- Maintain revision control for QA documents such as processes, policy relating to QA, Manufacturing, Shipping / Receiving, and Inventory Control
- Provides training and audit for QA programs including GMP, food safety, and sanitation
QUALIFICATIONS :
- The Food Safety Quality Manager must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry or equivalent
- Must have a minimum of 7 years of Quality Assurance experience from food manufacturing background.
- Must have SQF practitioner certification, PCQI Certification and HACCP certification.
- The Food Safety Quality Manager must have 3+ years of QA supervisory experience.
- Must be proficient in FDA regulations. Better Process Controls Certification is preferred.
- Must have experience with cleaning Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures.
- The Food Safety Quality Manager must have used SAP and ERP systems, document control systems and other software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be a local candidate or willing to relocate before starting.
