Job Overview
Part-time faculty must be able to teach a variety of freshman and sophomore level Applied Media courses, depending on candidates’ expertise.
Courses to be staffed include Media Design Foundations I & II, Photography I & II, Introduction to Photojournalism, Video Production I, Web Design I & II, Animation Foundations, Animation I & II (2D), 3D Graphics & Motion, Interactive Design, and Applied Media Methods.
Adjunct faculty members will be expected to (1) use our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems;
2) hold regular office hours to meet with students; and (3) participate in at least one professional development workshop per year.
All classes may be offered day or evening. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
Essential Functions
- On a part-time basis, teach assigned undergraduate courses.
- May serve as an academic advisor for students and evaluate student coursework.
- Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.
- Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Required Education
A bachelor’s degree in the specific technical fields related to the media production discipline taught : audio, photography, video, animation / motion graphics and / or web production.
Required Experience
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in professional media design and production.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- At least one year of teaching experience in a college setting.
- A Master’s degree in the specific media discipline or a related field.
