Purpose
The Medications Analyst will provide day-to-day oversight related to Wilmington Health’s procurement of medications and monitoring the appropriate reimbursement of medications administered by Wilmington Health providers.
This position will facilitate and support operational improvements throughout the infusion center workflows. The Medications Analyst will be an active member of the Cost and Utilization committee.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- In partnership with practice leadership, develops systems and procedures to manage the policies that govern the revenue cycle of high-cost medications efficiently and effectively across WH
- Gathers and analyzes data to maintain profit margin charts for all medications
- Works in tandem with physicians and practice leaders to ensure the utilization of cost and quality effective medications and the minimization of waste
- Develops dashboards to track the profitability of all medications across WH
- Seeks opportunities to improve operational enhancements efficiencies in infusion and pharmacy workflows to reduce costs, increase revenue, and increase quality
- Collects, analyzes, manages, and presents financial data in a clear and comprehensive manner & incorporates advanced knowledge of organizational systems and structures into reports, analysis, and solution development
- Monitors medication usage and presents data per department and physician
- Tracks the progress of medication rebates to ensure thresholds are being met to receive payments
- Works in tandem with physicians and practice leaders to promote effective biosimilar utilization
- Audits documentation of medication administration
- Manages the approval all orders of pharmaceuticals over $10,000
- Establishes and maintains efficient par levels for medications
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Demonstrated understanding of healthcare policy & procedure, Microsoft Excel, process improvement, LEAN Strategies, and / or Six Sigma expertise
- Three + years in Healthcare Management / Administrative experience
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or a related healthcare field
- Experience with pharmaceuticals
- General knowledge of financial / accounting principles
- Five + years Healthcare Management / Administrative experience
