Staff Accountant
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Staff Accountant in Ft Lauderdale, FL. Our client is looking to bring on a Staff Accountant to support full operations processes and deadlines.
This role will be in a fast-paced environment, require team-work and independent projects. Ideal candidate will need to have a minimum of 4- 5 years of experience.
Responsibilities :
Prepare monthly journal entries specified by closing schedule as well as any reclassification entries needed after financial review.
Billing Inquiries - Assists residents regarding billing and telephone inquiries
Process late fee statements
Review of data against the prior period, budget and forecast; investigate and prepare written analysis of material fluctuations and variances of assigned general ledger accounts.
Quarterly Invoicing & Mailings
Accounts Payable - Reconciles vendor invoices with proposals / packing slips
Audits and processes credit card bills for payment
Prepares invoices for payment and obtains authorization for payment
Prepares checks, copies them, and mails all outgoing checks
Maintains files and documentation thoroughly and accurately.
Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts as specified by closing schedule.
Maintain and manage accrual, prepaid expenses, and deferred revenue accounting
Reconciliation- Monthly reconciliation of accounts payables and general ledger
Assists Comptroller with year-end financial and annual audit preparations
Year-end audit work papers for assigned accounts including the preparation of the various confirmations, reconciliations, and audit related schedules.
Monthly ledger statements and provide to department leaders and book reclassification or adjustments needed regarding expense accounts.
Assist with payroll
Process and send out late fee statements
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field strongly preferred
At least 4-5 years of experience
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Interpersonal skills, strong communication and ability to work as a team
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Strong organizational skills
Compensation : $60K-$70K
