As a Lifeguard, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our members and visitors while enjoying a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities :
- Safety First : Enforce Kroc Center rules to maintain a safe environment for all. Observe and caution swimmers about unsafe behavior, and uphold order in swimming areas.
- Swift Rescuer : Analyze situations quickly and take effective action to rescue swimmers in danger of drowning.
- Lifesaver : Administer first aid, rescue breathing, and CPR when required, providing critical assistance during emergencies.
- Cleanliness Maintenance : Ensure swimming pool areas, locker rooms, restrooms, and other designated areas are kept clean and welcoming for all.
- Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records and reports as necessary to keep our operations running smoothly.
- Team Collaboration : Assist with swim lessons and work together with our aquatic programs to enhance the overall experience for our community.
- Continuous Learning : Attend all in-service training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Effective Communication : Communicate effectively with co-workers and customers, creating a friendly and informative atmosphere.
Qualifications :
- Age Requirement : You must be at least 15 years old to apply.
- Language Skills : Proficiency in English is essential, and the ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
- Flexible Availability : Be prepared to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and split shifts to accommodate scheduling needs.
- Training : If you don't have Lifeguard training, we offer training to help you become certified.
- Certifications : Obtain American Red Cross certifications for Lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid for the Professional Rescuer before beginning your employment.
- Teaching Potential : If you have an interest in teaching, the American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification is required or can be obtained within six months.
- Additional Skills : Possessing American Red Cross Oxygen Administration certification is highly desirable.
