Custodian & Facility Maintenance Technician

Position Summary :

This position performs custodial and maintenance duties in and around manufacturing building. Facility Maintenance Technician will perform unskilled and semi-skilled tasks for maintenance and repair general building maintenance and custodial duties;

landscaping work responds to calls for emergency repair work needed and performs other necessary maintenance and custodial work as required to meet the facility’s needs.

Essential duties :

• Perform minor property maintenance and repairs including, but not limited to plastering, painting, drywall repair, fixing / installing light fixtures, installing brand new appliances, light plumbing.
• Repair and maintain furniture and equipment.
• Perform and manage routine building maintenance tasks, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing and HVAC repair and maintenance.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Clean and polish furniture, restroom fixtures, counter tops, bathroom stalls, toilets, and urinals, concessions, etc.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
• Make adjustments and minor repairs, as needed (i.e. replacing / adjusting bolts and screws, adjusting door handles, etc.).
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
• Clear and dispose of trash and debris from grounds, walkways / sidewalks, and curbs.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Good communications skills, ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Knowledge of the basic uses and purposes of tools, materials and equipment used in buildings, streets, grounds and parks maintenance.

Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry and electrical work.

Reporting Relationships :

Report to the building maintenance manager.

Working Conditions : Machine shop environment. Most of the work requires routine walking, standing, bending, and lifting

Position type :

Requires full work time only. 8 hours a shift- Monday to Friday - overtime expected depending on production needs. Regular attendance is an essential job function.
