The Absence Management Program Manager oversees and facilitates all aspects of employee leaves of absence and accommodations requests to ensure compliance with all organizational policies and federal and state leave regulations.
This position will require strong understanding and knowledge of ADA to conduct interviews and engagements with employees.
This position is employee facing and aids in fostering a positive employee experience by providing guidance, instruction and excellent customer service to employees and managers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assists with development and implementation of overall strategy and philosophy related to the absence programs, including all leaves of absence, workers compensation and accommodations.
- Leads the success of the absence program as it relates to Client and Employee satisfaction, in collaboration with internal support teams to strengthen our leave program.
This includes compliance, tracking, training and navigation.
- Partners with vendors to ensure that in-scope services are delivered in a quality and responsive manner.
- Handles complex leave cases and provides expert advice and guidance on difficult or sensitive situations using in-depth knowledge of leaves and policy.
- Coordinates with applicable stakeholders (employees, managers, benefit team, payroll team, HR Business Partners, and designated vendor) on leave case management keeping employee experience as the focal point.
- Conducts audits to make sure employee leave cases and procedures are being administered appropriately and according to established deadlines.
- Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, and state and local laws.
- Educates managers and supervisors on the appropriate processes and procedures; creates and presents training when needed.
- Responsible for maintaining leave of absence information on the company intranet and ADP portal.
- Performs other related duties as required by management.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Business and / or Human Resources or related field
- 3 years + experience in a leaves management position or HR environment with customer service experience
Preferred Qualifications :
- Knowledge of national and local regulations regarding workers' compensation, FMLA, and disability.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write clearly, concisely, and logically.
- Ability to track, monitor, and report processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively to targeted audience.

Disclosure as required by applicable law, the annual salary range for this position is 60,000 to 95,000. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education and skill level.
The salary range is CONMED’s good faith belief at the time of this posting.
