Description
Key Accountabilities :
- Active management of Vistra’s nodal positions in short, mid and long term
- Support the optimization of nodal risk introduced by Vistra’s development and retail
- Maintains a profitable power basis speculative trading book
- Support the shaping of markets by collaborating with Vistra’s Regulatory teams
- Perform all tasks while following all external regulations and internal risk policy of Vistra Corp
Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements :
- 15+ years experience in the power basis industry, specifically in the designated ISO.
- Robust mathematical skill and ability to process large amounts of information to synthetize it into actionable commercial decisions
- Thorough knowledge of the power system in the designated ISO and the rules regulating it
- Ability to develop and execute trading strategies
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience or coursework in the following areas are applicable to above skills :
- Multivariate calculus and differential equations
- Linear algebra and / or econometric analysis
- Statistics, probability and discrete mathematics
- Algorithm and process design
- Finance and economics
- Steady state power system analysis
Key Metrics :
- Maintains a net positive savings from the start value and actual delivery costs
- Maintains a profitable proprietary trading book
- If applicable market, ARR Optimization when compared to market wide results
