This position will support the Legal and Regulatory Department as a contract and compliance attorney for Alfasigma USA, Inc.
and Brand Direct Health, L.L.C. (collectively the Company ). This position requires an attorney who has previous experience in reviewing contracts and implementing, maintaining, and enforcing compliance policies and procedures.
The attorney must have the ability to perform day-to-day responsibilities with minimal supervision, to work as a team player, to manage and perform multiple tasks concurrently while remaining detail orientated, and to maintain confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities :
- Draft, review, revise, and negotiate Company contracts covering a wide variety of different contract types
- Create and maintain relationships with internal business partners and serve as singular point of contact for matters concerning contracts
- Research issues that arise in the draft, review, and revision of Company contracts and templates
- Create Executive Summaries for Company contracts
- Perform duties and responsibilities as administrator of the Company’s contract database, including but not limited to uploading and maintaining all contracts in the contract management system;
performing validation activities to ensure compliance with the Company Contract Policy; instructing users; and working with IT and outside vendors on the maintenance and configuration of the contract management system
- Review previously approved contracts for compliance with the Company’s Contract Policy and Signature Authority levels
- Follow up on the return of signed Company contracts for retention in the Company’s contract database.
- Train employees on the Company’s Contract Policy and use of the Company’s contract database
- Organize, develop, and maintain a list of Company contracts and their status by utilizing the reports feature of the contract management system
- Monitor contracts, advise business regarding contractual deadlines (expiration, renewals, etc.) and assist business owners of contracts with close-out, extensions, or renewals of contracts
- Assist in the review, development, and enforcement of compliance policies, procedures, and training to raise awareness
- Foster a culture of compliance
- Monitor developments and changes to applicable regulations as well as business strategy to make appropriate changes and enhancements to the compliance program
- Support policy management systems, document retention program
- Partner global compliance partners to ensure consistency
- Perform other duties and assignments as required
Experience & Qualifications :
- JD from accredited law school and excellent academic credentials
- State bar member in good standing in any jurisdiction.
- 5+ years of relevant experience as an attorney reviewing contract and handling compliance in-house and at a law firm
- Ability to effectively handle contract and compliance management tools and software, experience with Veeva Vault for contract management is preferred
- Experience in pharma or healthcare field is a plus
- Computer skills with proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent reading and language comprehension skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Extremely detail oriented and ability to spot errors and inconsistencies
- Demonstrates excellent communication (written and oral) skills (including proper grammar and usage)
