We provide civil / site design and land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, accident reconstruction, roofing / building envelope, A / V system design, troubleshooting & installation, transportation design (bridge / roadway), and specialized testing services to the construction industry.
We are looking for a Civil / Site Project Engineer who will play a key role in the design, planning, and implementation of site civil design / development projects for our clients.
You'll leverage your expertise in site design and creative problem-solving skills while collaborating closely with institutions / municipal agencies.
From initial concept development to final plan submittal, this role will be involved with projects through every stage of the design process, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
- This position will use experience while learning new skills to assist clients through our cross-functional team dynamic and company culture.
- You will be involved in all project aspects including design / study development and site / field visits during design and construction.
- This position will be based out of our Shelbyville, KY office location ( located just east of Louisville ).

Responsibilities :
- Participate in all aspects of Civil / Site Development Design projects :
- Work with the Project Managers to develop data, complete technical analysis, and prepare permitting and construction drawings, specifications, and quality control plans.
- Develop Concept, Layout, Preliminary and Final Engineering Plans.
- Develop erosion and sediment control plans.
- Design utility and utility relocation plans.
- Assist with creating permit applications.
- Complete site layout, utility and grading plans, storm water analyses and reports, and site development permits.
- Perform civil engineering analyses and numerical analysis using various computer software programs.
- Determine hydrology, develop hydraulic / drainage and stormwater calculations, SWPPPs and obtain NDPES permits.
- Participate in hands-on field observation & inspection of construction activities.
- Communicate with clients on deliverables.
- Assist with developing project proposals and Engineer's construction cost estimates.
- Assist with developing / managing schedules, budgets, and quality of work.
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Civil Engineering principles and reporting.
- Proficient in using Auto CAD Civil 3D in various Civil / Site Design projects.
- Must have good customer service skills, a high level of professionalism, and comfortable with client interaction.
- Must have ability to manage multiple projects and remain quality-focused.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to be a team player.
- Ability to be reliable and on time.
- Be quality-minded and client-focused.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or similar discipline.
- 3+ years of Civil / Site Design experience
- EIT or EI is not required but is a strong plus
- Must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record.
