JOB SUMMARY : Responsible for oversight of the maintenance and upkeep of the school district facilities and grounds. Serve as a member of the Administration Council (AdCo).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : The subsequent duties outline the fundamental operations of the position and exemplify the nature of the tasks carried out.
They do not encompass a comprehensive inventory of the obligations and responsibilities fulfilled in this role. The approximation of frequencies and time allocation percentages are flexible and subject to the requirements of the organization.
Job Task Descriptions
- Provide vision, guidance, and direction of the HVAC, General Maintenance, Custodial, and Grounds departments. (Daily, 30%)
- Proactively identifies opportunities and risks within the budget. (Daily, 5%)
- Builds strong rapport with building Administrators. (Daily, 5%)
- Proactively manages department workplace safety. (Daily, 5%)
- Oversees building environmental initiatives and emergency responses. (Daily, 5%)
- Systematic, predictable, repeatable, customer service-focused work. (Daily, 5%)
- Manages the department fleet of vehicles. (Daily, 5%)
- Manages building modification requests and ensures maintenance tickets are addressed in a timely fashion. (Weekly, 10%)
- Serves on various District committees including Administrative Counsel and Long Range Planning. Participate in District negotiations working to achieve the District’s goals. (Monthly, 10%)
- Develops and maintains the District Technical Specification. (Monthly, 5%)
- Coordinates with the Construction Department for the successful completion of District construction projects. (Monthly, 5%)
- Administers the districtwide cleaning contract and proactively manages vendors performance. (Monthly, 5%)
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested. (Daily, 5%)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : The minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position.
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
- Bachelor's degree or 5 years’ experience in school facility operations or some combination of education and practical experience
- Five (5) years of professional work experience in at least one of the three educational support services departments and three (3) years of which involved supervisory experience
- Knowledge and skills in organizational behavior and development, planning, school district management, educational policy, and communications
- Ability to communicate effectively and, when warranted, persuasively, both orally and in writing with both internal and external stakeholders
- Advanced leadership skills to guide staff effectively through the creation and maintenance of a collegial, team-oriented, work environment, and serve as an integral team-member among the senior staff of the District
- Excellent organizational skills
