The Role

We are looking for a Director, Apparel Design - HOKA who will lead the brand into the future, promote design thinking, and direct the creation of brand-building concepts.

Represent the design discipline in overall leadership of the team setting the example for creative excellence, while building a visual identity for the brand.

Under the direction of the Senior Director of HOKA Apparel & Accessories, this person will help build, scale, and lead a design team, stewarding our brand through the creation of bold innovative products.

Lead, teach, and mentor a team of diverse designers with various levels of experience, including apparel design, accessories design, color, and graphic design.

Your Impact

We’re looking for someone with an accomplished background in delivering consumer-led performance products to a global marketplace, proven knowledge in brand strategy and creative vision, and experience leading a global design team.

The primary functions of this role include, but are not limited to :

  • Build, scale, and lead a design team stewarding our brand voice and visual identity across Apparel & Accessories.
  • Lead the charge with the cross-functional product, design, and development teams to build best-in-class, innovative products across apparel and accessories.
  • Lead design team by example, designing statement level and / or strategic projects as needed.
  • Create and execute the long-term strategic product design direction for the Apparel & Accessories categories in partnership with brand leadership.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure highest level product is successfully commercialized to the brand vision, and that the line meets the overall business objectives and financial goals.
  • Manage people to include process, project workload, design assignments, product / development interactions, and deadlines for both full-time and contract designers.

We’d love to hear from people with

  • Recognized expertise in performance apparel and accessories design.
  • 10+ years Performance Apparel & Accessories Design experience with a global athletic brand, awareness of 3D design process and current working knowledge Adobe creative suite.
  • 5+ years people leadership leading a team and brand creative leadership.
  • Experience working in a global apparel role for a sportswear / outdoor brand.
  • A passion for running & the outdoors.
  • Expert-level knowledge of consumer and market trends and the ability to translate those trends into commercial product.
  • Comprehensive understanding of product development process.
  • Bachelor’s degree in apparel design, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree in design a plus.
