edu.Job DescriptionThe University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Assistant Program Director / Assistant / Associate / Professor-in Residence or Assistant / Associate / Professor, School of Nursing R0143009 .

ROLE of the POSITIONThe Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Assistant Program Director / Assistant / Associate / Professor-in-Residence or Assistant / Associate / Professor will work closely with the CRNA Program Director to provide vital leadership for the CRNA Program track within the DNP Program (12-month).

The incumbent will work closely with the CRNA Program Director to develop syllabi as well as teaching courses within the program.

Duties include but not limited to : * Teach anesthesia program courses to students from UNLV in the DNP-CRNA Program* Participate in selection and evaluation of students for admission to the DNP-CRNA Program* Orient students to the clinical anesthesia area* Coordinate clinical assignments, site visits, clinical rotations, and evaluation of students* Maintain student records during academic and clinical experiences* Serves as a liaison / contact person between UNLV, the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs, NBCRNA, NVANA, and the clinical sites* Conduct on-site visits with students, clinical coordinators and members of the anesthesia department, and hospital staff at clinical sites* Assist the CRNA Program Director with administration and functions of the program in their absence* Assist in writing of accreditation documents (self-study) as applicable* Assist the CRNA Program Director with advising of DNP-CRNA students* Work in coordination with the Director of Clinical Placements to ensure clinical placement* Maintain specialty certification credentials* Maintain active practice as a CRNA* This is a 12-month, 3-semester position at 0.

8 FTEPROFILE of the DEPARTMENT / COLLEGEThe School of Nursing at UNLV offers CCNE-accredited programs leading to a BSN, MS (nurse practitioner and nurse educator tracks), DNP, and PhD (Educator and Interprofessional Health concentrations and DNP to PhD).

The individual must also hold or be qualified to hold a Nevada RN license and if selected applicant is subject to a one-time background check.

This individual must be a CRNA and will be required to obtain their Nevada CRNA license upon job acceptance.Faculty rank will be dependent upon educational credentials, terminal degree, experience, and scholarly achievement.

In the instance of tenure-track or tenured consideration, the rank and track will be based on UNLV School of Nursing criteria and review.

NOTE : The senior level nursing faculty member must possess a record of extensive scholarly achievement.* Assistant / Associate / Professor-in-Residence (non-tenure-track) : terminal degree & experience.

Assistant / Associate Professor (tenure-track) : terminal degree and comprehensive experience and research activity.* Associate / Professor (tenured) : terminal degree, research activity, and a record of extensive scholarly achievement.

Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSTwo years' experience in academic and clinical teaching preferred.
