The Staff Accountant will manage the accounting and financial reporting process for their assigned territory. This role is responsible for month-end closings, financial reporting, preparation of journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and analysis.
The Staff Accountant will ensure accurate and timely financial data and play a critical role in maintaining financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities :
P&L Management and Analysis : Manage and assess the assigned territory’s profit and loss (P&L) statements, accruals, and coding.
Identify and investigate discrepancies and advise the unit on necessary adjustments.
- Journal Entries and Reconciliations : Prepare and create journal entries as necessary. Prepare bank reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Financial Closing Procedures : Play a key role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing procedures. Prepare accurate, reliable, and timely financial reports.
Analyze variances in income statement and balance sheet accounts.
Financial Monitoring and Reporting : Confirm financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses. Coordinate consolidation and evaluation of financial data.
Prepare special reports for the Accounting Manager as needed.
- Internal Controls and Compliance : Assist with the assessment and implementation of internal controls, including risk identification and prevention.
- Tax and Asset Management : Prepare and submit sales tax returns for the assigned territory. Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules.
- Special Assignments and Audit Support : Handle special assignments and responsibilities as requested by the supervisor, including ad hoc financial analysis.
Provide assistance to internal and external audit functions, including preparation of audit schedules.
Required Skills / Abilities :
- Strong general accounting and reconciliation skills.
- Proficiency with Great Plains software and FRX experience.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Advanced math skills with the ability to calculate figures, amounts, and percentages, and apply concepts of mathematics relating to financial calculations.
- Initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to maintain highly confidential information.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interface with all disciplines and levels.
- Resourceful with exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Education / Experience :
College Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Pay Details : $60, to $70, per year
