Job Description and Duties

Franchise Tax Board's (FTB) Digital Services Section (DSS) is looking for an organized, highly engaged, and customer centric leader to join our team.

The section provides digital services that assist taxpayers and tax professionals on our external website, ftb.ca.gov, as well as FTB staff on our internal website, FTBNet.

We work in an ever-changing and face-paced environment to support our 24x7 website and ensure that customers have access to the most current and accurate information that is also clear, accessible, and easy to understand.

Under the general direction of the Digital Services Section's Information Technology (IT) Manager I, the IT Supervisor II plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Digital Services Specialists responsible for updating static content on the department's internal and external websites.

Digital Services Section collaborates with business customers throughout the organization, as well as the department's Accessible Technology Program, Web Council, and Enterprise Accessibility Council to ensure the website meets business needs, while also meeting accessibility requirements as outlined in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), usability guidelines, and best practices.

The section also provides support for Franchise Tax Board's quarterly Board Meetings. The supervisor participates in strategic and business planning for the section, with a focus on the web as the preferred customer service channel.

  • The supervisor is responsible for the intake, prioritization, and release processes; unit procedures; performance measurement activities;
  • statistics and reporting; and accuracy and timeliness of published content. They provide oversight, guidance, and leadership to create a customer focused team;

encourage collaboration and communication; and ensure customer needs are addressed quickly and professionally, while adhering to established governance and approval processes.

This position provides services which encompass the IT domain of Business Technology Management and Software Engineering.

Working Conditions

This position is eligible for remote-working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework.
