Summary of Position :
- The National Sales Manager will supervise and coach a team of sales professionals (Loan Officers) located in major MSAs throughout the country that will source and originate commercial real estate (CRE) loans.
- Guide Loan Officers to proactively sell a broad product menu by providing frequent one-on-one training focused on frontend activity sourcing, assessment and structuring of loans to drive winnable transactions.
- Strategize with the sales leaders of Bridge and Strategic Partnerships teams to jointly market a broad product menu to a national network of mortgage brokers in a coordinated and consistent manner.
- Member of senior leadership team charged with building a growth-oriented lending business whose goals are aligned into credit risk management and operational excellence.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement strategies to prudently grow the CRE loan portfolio and market share while meeting existing and emerging customer needs.
- Assist Loan Officers in proactively networking and developing relationships in the CRE mortgage brokerage community.
- Perform credit and collateral analysis on loan opportunities submitted by Loan Officers to facilitate transactions.
- Assist Loan Officers in presenting opportunities to the frontend sizing / structuring teams and Credit Committee.
- Conduct regular sales meetings with the Loan Officer team to review sales activity and the loan pipeline.
- Recruit proven Loan Officers with specific product knowledge and experience.
- Develop and drive implementation of new high-yield CRE lending products.
- Work as part of a management team with leaders of Frontend Production, Credit, Capital Markets, Loan Operations, Technology and Marketing, to implement policies, procedures, and deliverables that positively impact customers and loan volume.
- Manage goal setting, compensation incentives and performance management plans for Loan Officers.
- Create monthly and quarterly reporting that will track sales effectiveness.
- Travel required supervise national Loan Officer team, meet brokers and clients, attend industry conferences, organize sales meetings, perform property site inspections and market tours with local professionals, meet with sponsors to learn about business plans and progress, and perform on-site due diligence of forward-flow targets.
Skills and Experience :
- Graduation from a college or university with major coursework in a discipline related to Accounting, Finance or Commercial Real Estate is preferred.
- Minimum requirement of 15 years' experience in sales leadership, commercial real estate finance, mortgage lending, asset management, and underwriting / due diligence.
- Extensive experience with multifamily agency, CMBS, and transitional commercial real estate lending is required.
- Track record of success building and leading CRE origination teams.
- Strong loan structuring background needed to effectively mitigate credit risks embedded in the underlying transactions.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret commercial real estate property related financial reports and legal documents.
- Property valuation skills coupled with knowledge of major commercial real estate markets.
- Superior communication skills (written and verbal) with internal and external partners, including effective delivery of formal presentations with ability to persuade senior leaders to act.
- Excellent cross-group collaboration skills and ability to affect outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Financial acumen to engage in budgeting, compensation, and margin discussions.
