The Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy & compliance of the companys financial reporting & technical accounting processes.

This role involves researching complex accounting issues, implementing new accounting standards, & preparing financial statements.

The Manager will collaborate closely with various departments to ensure the integrity of financial information & support the Director of Technical Accounting & Reporting in maintaining robust financial reporting practices.

What You'll Be Doing

Technical Accounting :

  • Research & interpret complex accounting issues, ensuring compliance with GAAP, & other applicable standards.
  • Provide guidance & draft memos on technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, business combinations, equity transactions, capitalized software, inventory, & financial instruments.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Operations, & Product teams to ensure compliance with accounting policies for new contracts & business arrangements.
  • Assist in documentation & maintenance of critical accounting policies (e.g., revenue, refunds & chargebacks, equity transactions, inventory, & other topics).
  • Implement new accounting standards & ensure their proper application across the organization.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Assist with M&A due diligence & Post Merger Integrations (PMI).

Financial Reporting :

  • Prepare accurate & timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, statements of changes in equity, & footnotes.
  • Coordinate & manage the external audit process, acting as a main point of contact for external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with SEC reporting requirements, including the preparation of 10-Q & 10-K filings.
  • Assist in the preparation & review of management reports generated from Company financial statements for other Finance functions (e.

g., CFO, FP&A, Investor Relations) critical to the corporate decision making process.

Internal Controls :

  • Assist with developing & maintaining robust internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Conduct regular reviews & updates of accounting policies & procedures to ensure they reflect current regulations & best practices.
  • Support SOX & internal controls compliance; identify & mitigate risks related to financial reporting & technical accounting.
  • Assist in assessment of external & internal audit findings & assist the Finance team with the development of management action plans, as it relates to accounting policies & remediation plans.

Collaboration & Communication :

  • Work closely with other departments, including Tax, Treasury, Legal, & Operations, to ensure the accuracy & completeness of financial information.
  • Provide training & support to finance & accounting teams on technical accounting issues & updates.
  • Communicate complex accounting concepts & findings to senior management & other stakeholders in a clear & concise manner.

Continuous Improvement :

  • Promote continuous improvement in financial reporting processes & systems.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, & best practices in technical accounting & financial reporting.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency & effectiveness of the financial reporting function.

What Were Looking For

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting and / or Finance.
  • CPA certification
  • 5+ years of experience in a Big4 accounting firm, or Consulting / Advisory or public company experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), & SEC reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in technical accounting areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, business combinations, equity transactions, capitalized software, inventory, & financial instruments.

Base Salary

  • The US base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000 - $188,000.
  • Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, & location. The range displayed on each job posting is based on Nooms estimate as of the date of publication & reflects the minimum & maximum target for the position across all US locations.

The actual placement of the candidate within the range is based on factors including but not limited to relevant experience, assessment of functional skills & behavioral competencies, scope, & location.

This range is not inclusive of any discretionary bonus or equity package.
