Director of Accounting Policy and Financial Reporting

Responsibilities of Director of Accounting Policy and Financial Reporting :

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive accounting policies and procedures in compliance with GAAP, SEC regulations, and other relevant standards.
  • Conduct technical research, analyze and provide technical accounting guidance on complex business transactions and non-routine transactions.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements analysis, related reporting schedules, packages and Contract Asset reports ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the financial reporting team in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports, including 10-Q and 10-K filings, including preparation of Accounting Memos, Disclosure Checklist (GAAP Checklist and SEC Checklist).
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and provide financial insights and guidance on financial reporting matters.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial reporting; drive process improvements to streamline financial reporting processes and enhance internal controls.
  • Train and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Support the CFO, corporate controller, and other senior executives with financial analysis and reporting as needed.

Preferred Experience of Director of Accounting Policy & Financial Reporting :

  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations and reporting requirements; knowledge of IFRS is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and
  • Proven experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements and SEC
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with at least 6 years in a senior role focused on accounting policy and financial reporting.
  • Experience managing and leading a team of accounting professionals preferred
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting
  • Ability to stay current with changes in accounting regulations and assess their impact on the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related

This is a fully on-site position in Brookfield, CT. The salary range is $160-$200k depending on experience.
