Current Need

We are currently hiring a Transportation Supervisor to oversee 20+ drivers, including 3 Class A line haul drivers. The position will work in unison with our transportation supervisor at our distribution center.

Candidate must be flexible with their hours and be on call for any overnight line haul issues. McKesson requires new employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as defined by the CDC, subject to applicable, verified accommodation requests.

Shift : Monday- Friday day shift

Position Description

Manages and coordinates the daily activities of the delivery operation for the Glendale Heights distribution center, and works in unison with transportation supervisor in distribution center.

This position will also accept transportation manager responsibilities in absence of the transportation Manager.

Key Responsibilities include :

• Scheduling line Hall departures
• Daily routing of deliveries
• Loading of truck shipments
• Dock security and cleanliness
• Fleet maintenance and readiness
• Scheduling management
• DOT requirements
• Assisting sales & customer service
• Training of fleet drivers
• Travel to cross-dock locations
• Driver ride alongs
• Performance management of direct reports

Minimum Requirements

2+ years operational experience including 2+ years leadership experience

Critical Skills

• Class C or above required.
• 1-2+ years transportation experience.
• Preferred : Class A license

Additional Knowledge & Skills

• Excellent Communication between internal & external customers.
• Excellent organizational skills, excellent communication skills (verbal / written), and management skills
• Ability to train and take part in driver ride-alongs required
• PACE Based driver safety program
• Problem solving experience required
• Knowledge of RoadNet preferred
• Knowledge of Netradyne preferred

Education

2-year degree or equivalent experience

Physical Requirements

• General Office Demands
• Distribution Center environment
• Ride-alongs with line haul drivers out to different cross docks
• Ride alongs with bulk drivers in local Market
• May have to drive out to assist with a breakdown
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
