About The Position
Job Title : Sterile Processing Technologist / Technician Job Specialty : Sterile Processing Job Duration : 8 Months Shift : Night - 11 PM to 7 AM Guaranteed Hours : 37.
5 Hours per Week Experience : 2+ Years Required License : Not Applicable Certifications : Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD) required;
CIS preferred Must-Have : High School Diploma or equivalent Job Description : Perform all phases within Central Sterile and support all services, including robotics.
- Utilize washers and autoclaves, specifically Steris and Sterrad systems.- Operate SynergyTrak software.- Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble, and package sterile supplies according to specifications and manufacturer instructions.
- Operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, heat sealers, and additional equipment.
- Adhere to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts.- Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from various surgical and clinical areas for decontamination.
- Examine instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality.- Identify malfunctioning items, record related information, and promptly notify supervisor or biomedical engineer.
- Receive and fill requisitions from hospital departments and nursing units.- Communicate with perioperative staff regarding related instrument needs.
- Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levels.- Perform duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environment.
- Ability to lift / carry 25 pounds.- Manual dexterity, ability to stand, bend, lift, and reach for extended periods.- Effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Techs may be required to wear disposable scrubs and cover hair / beard; no outside shoes, jewelry, or nail polish allowed.
- Every other weekend work is required.
