Position Overview : We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for providing specialized instruction, support, and resources to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

We are looking for an enthusiastic professional who is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can succeed.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, including setting academic and behavioral goals, selecting appropriate instructional strategies, and monitoring progress.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, adapting curriculum materials and instructional methods to meet individual student needs and learning styles.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure the effective inclusion and participation of students with disabilities in general education settings and activities.
  • Assess student progress and performance using a variety of assessment tools and methods, and use data to inform instructional planning and decision-making.
  • Provide accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology to support student learning and access to the curriculum.
  • Implement behavior management strategies and supports to address challenging behaviors and promote positive social-emotional development.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, attendance, and services provided in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in professional development activities and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and support the needs of students with disabilities.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Kentucky teaching certification in Special Education (P-12) or eligibility for certification through the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB).
  • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Kentucky's special education regulations.
  • Strong understanding of diverse learning needs and effective instructional strategies for students with disabilities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and meeting the individual needs of all students.
