Job Description
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an Environmental Health Technician to join our team! This position is available in the Regulated Material Operations team located at the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory.
The responsibilities include : supporting the lab with regulated waste generation, preparation and shipments of regulated waste, and compliant operations of our waste storage areas and the permitted waste storage facility.

- Perform work in an industrial environment that may include the preparation, configuration, operation, and maintenance consistent with the assigned job task.
- Work with materials including, radioactive, hazardous, PCB, and residual wastes.
- Prepare requisitions to obtain materials and services needed for work group tasks and follow procurement actions through delivery.
- Participate in the planning of work procedures.
- Execute all work tasks in accordance with established radiological, environmental, and safety rules.
- Acquire qualifications and fundamental skills to perform routine work and facility operations using standard procedures.
- Obtain training and demonstrate initial and continuing proficiency for all required work qualifications.
- Work under the direction of more senior technicians, professionals, and management.
- Work to identified schedules, coordinating efforts within the work group, and with personnel from other work groups.
- Potential to operate heavy equipment, such as fork trucks and the yard spotter.
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience; or Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience;
or Journeyman's papers in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.

Pay Range
$62,000.00 - $94,900.00 annually
