OverviewThe Medical Education Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring healthcare professionals have the knowledge and skills needed to utilize Cordis products safely and effectively, contributing to improved patient care.
Reporting to the Director of Professional Education, they drive the North America education strategy for external clinician audiences and execute that strategy through targeted programming.
In strong partnership with HCP faculty and healthcare experts, they design and develop evidence-based learning content and facilitated through engaging instruction.
The ideal candidate will develop and own an education strategy aligned to the Cordis Vital Few commercial initiatives. Adopting a blended learning approach, they will use available resources and seek out new, innovative teaching modalities.
They will build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional partners to lead strategic development of education initiatives.
This cohesive education strategy will ultimately facilitate technology adoption, advance clinical technique, and refine end-user skills.
- ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute professional education strategy through innovative, relevant programming that supports the adoption as well as the safe and effective use of cardiovascular devices and technology among healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionalsBuild and maintain expertise, both technical and clinical, across cardiovascular, peripheral vascular, and neurovascular therapeutic areas to engage in relevant discussion with clinicians and support creation of education contentProvide technical expertise for Cordis products as determined by commercial imperatives and focus areasDevelop and manage strong relationships with key clinician stakeholdersCollaborate with HCP stakeholders to provide best-in-class instruction to clinicians of varying experience levels and rolesCreate and optimize clinician speaker materials in collaboration with cross-functional partners for use in education programsEstablish detailed and clear learning objectives to positively affect end-user behavior and align educational materials to meet targeted, desired outcomesDevelop a wide range of educational materials including presentations, e-learning modules and training guidesCreate and lead workshops of varying format and scope including, but not limited to : webinars, live instructor-led training, hands-on product and procedural demonstration, and simulation and cadaver laboratoriesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver educational strategies and materials for new product launches;
- provide ongoing support to sales and marketing teams for product launch clinical and educational supportConduct regular needs assessments and constantly seek out stakeholder feedback (both internal and external) to identify gaps in training and education, innovate at pace and provide on-demand, relevant instructionAct as liaison representing clinician education needs to the broader internal organization;
prioritize education opportunities and topics in support of customer needsStay informed about market trends competitive products, and evolving clinical practices with the cardiovascular field to tailor educational content accordinglyCollaborate closely with direct manager and leadership to reinforce educational initiatives, driving behavioral change and best practice adoptionEvaluate the impact and effectiveness of educational programs on key performance indicators, adjusting strategies to drive overall organizational success and aligning to commercial initiativesQualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience totaling 8 years. This includes :
- Mastery and experience in a learning & development role, preferably in the cardiovascular medical device market
- Advanced degree, certification and / or clinical licensure (RN, RCIS, RT, PA, NP, etc) including relevant clinical experience (OR, procedural lab / cath lab or critical care experience preferred)Extensive knowledge of interventional cardiovascular procedures and the cardiovascular medical device spaceExperience in designing and updating curriculum for adult learners, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards, society guidelines, and industry best practicesProficient in providing in-person education beyond traditional classroom settings, including hands-on training, experiential learning, and laboratory instruction.
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective online education programs for adult learners, including ability to conduct virtual or hybrid classes for adult learners, levering online platforms effectivelyProficiency in utilizing educational technology Learning Management Systems (LMS), and multimedia tools to enhance the learning experienceFamiliarity with Continuing Medical Education (CME) accreditation requirements and processes, including maintaining compliance with accrediting bodiesStrong verbal and interpersonal communication skills to educate and present topics to a variety of clinical audiences with the ability to facilitate discussions and encourage critical thinkingDemonstrated written communication skills and ability to tell a cohesive, engaging storyRequired MS Office proficiencyAbility to travel (50%) in support of internal meetings, external programs and congressesJOIN OUR TALENT COMMUNITYJoining our Talent Community is a great way to receive company news and updates, as well notifications on career opportunities and events that interest you!
