Established in 1989, Portnoff Law Associates, Ltd. is a law firm that limits its practice to the collection of unpaid real estate taxes and municipal utility fees.
PLA now represents more than 200 municipal clients throughout Pennsylvania, with offices in King of Prussia, Allentown, and Aliquippa.

hours to be spent in our Allentown or King of Prussia office location (which is close to Routes 76
and 202 and accessible by public transportation). Because of the friendly work environment,
many of PLA's employees have been with the firm for over 10 years and have worked their way
into leadership positions.

Job Overview and Requirements
Portnoff Law Associates seeks an attorney for a part-time position working entirely remotely with
the exception of an annual or semi-annual office-wide meeting. This part-time position involves
shared responsibilities so you have a predictable schedule and can establish the schedule that
works best for you, which may include weekends or nights.
The primary responsibility is to review a large volume of files to ensure that notice requirements
have been met. The ideal candidate will be available to work 20-25 hours per week.

Essential Responsibilities :
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the relevant federal and state laws, particularly the
Municipal Claims and Tax Liens Act, 53 P.S. 7101, et seq., the Fair Debt Collections
Practices Act and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Amended Regulation F.
Ensure that notice requirements under 53 P.S. 7106 are met for each account where
applicable.
Ensure that validation requirements are met for each claim under Regulation F where
applicable.
Prepare, review and sign legal demand letters via DocuSign.
Review claims to determine if a lien may be filed where appropriate.
Review files to determine what the next appropriate step in the collection process may

Essential Requirements :
Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania
Computer Proficiency : Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word), Collection Partner
or a similar collections database, DocuSign
Dependable, with strong work ethic and personal integrity.
Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills.
Compensation and Benefits :
Starting salary is $25 / hour
