Position Summary :
The Kansas Board of Regents invites applicants to fill the position Associate Director for Career Technical Education. The nine-member Kansas Board of Regents is the governing board of the state’s six universities and the statewide coordinating board for the state’s 32 public higher education institutions (six state universities, one municipal university, nineteen community colleges, and six technical colleges).
The Associate Director for Career Technical Education serves the Workforce Development unit under the Kansas Board of Regents and collaborates directly with the Director for Career Technical Education to implement and support the Carl D.
Perkins statewide plan. The Associate Director will support institutions delivering Perkins-approved technical programs, support the grant procurement agenda, coordinate the implementation of career guidance and preparation tools, serve as a liaison and provide technical assistance for Perkins Grant recipients, and manage additional State-funded grant initiatives.
The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and have experience in postsecondary education or project administration, grant writing, reporting, and grant management.
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills as well as strong organizational and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with multiple agencies, constituents and stakeholder groups, and a willingness to travel within and outside of the state of Kansas is essential.
