General Summary :

The GIS Engineer drives the GIS roadmap guiding the future of the Company’s spatial infrastructure to align needs with top industry tools, best practices, and software suites. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, updating, and maintaining GIS databases, while also ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all records.

In addition to technical expertise, the GIS Engineer will provide support and training on GIS software and applications, while staying updated on the latest advancements in GIS technology to recommend improvements to workflows and processes.

Essential Job Functions :

• Designs, develops, updates, and maintains GIS databases;
• Develops custom GIS applications and tools;
• Develops automation for importing, exporting, data entry, reporting, and updating of spatial data;
• Collects and manages spatial data from various sources including satellite imagery, GPS, databases, etc.;
• Conducts spatial analysis to identify patterns, trends, and relationships within geographic data;
• Performs spatial modeling, network analysis, and geographic projections;
• Generates reports, maps, and visualizations to effectively communicate analysis results;
• Performs data analysis and create maps and reports;
• Provides technical support and training on GIS software and applications;
• Stays up to date on advancements in GIS technology and recommend improvements to workflows and processes;
• Collaborates with teams to understand needs and deliver GIS solutions that meet project objectives;
• Coordinates with internal and external partners for data acquisition and integration;
• Travels to customer sites, project areas, business related events, and other Ritter Communications locations as required;
• Performs other duties as required.
