Assistant Engineer

Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Assistant Engineer . The Assistant Engineer is responsible for a wide range of buildings and grounds maintenance details. The applicant should be a self-starter who is able to work independently as well as with others.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Conduct visual inspections of boilers, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and facility finishes.
• Perform carpentry, light plumbing, light electrical and mechanical installations and repairs.
• Assemble furniture and fixtures.
• Disassemble, demolish and discard work area items.
• Paint indoors and outdoors.
• Maintain and organize shop and storage areas.
• Setup tables, chairs, risers, etc. for events.
• Perform general outdoor grounds work.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education : High School Diploma.

Experience : One year of engineering maintenance experience. 2-3 years preferred.

Specific Skills : Painting, carpentry, light electrical, light plumbing. Basic knowledge of boilers / HVAC. Working with power tools and basic computer skills.

Certifications / Licenses : Trade school certifications are a plus.

Special Requirements : NYS Drivers License

Compensation Range : $24.04 - $26.44 per hour
