We are actively seeking a motivated and experienced Logistics Salesperson to join our team. This role is not your typical sales position. While your primary responsibility will be driving new business and expanding our client base nationwide, you will also be deeply involved in the operational side of logistics. You'll be expected to possess a strong understanding of freight management, including the ability to plan and place truck routes efficiently and handle day-to-day operational tasks personally. This hands-on approach will be critical until our volume grows enough to justify hiring dedicated operations staff. Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities within the logistics sector across all of North America, targeting companies with freight needs in refrigerated and dry goods transportation.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with clients by thoroughly understanding their supply chain challenges and crafting tailored transportation solutions that maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from initial outreach and needs assessment to contract negotiation and closing, ensuring a consultative and solution-driven approach.
- Collaborate directly with customers and internal teams to design and place truck routes, coordinate freight movement, and optimize shipment schedules for maximum operational efficiency.
- Take an active operational role by managing logistics activities such as dispatching and load coordination, ensuring that freight is moved safely, on time, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support cross-border freight management, ensuring all necessary documentation, customs clearance, and bonded carrier protocols are meticulously handled.
- Monitor and track shipments to promptly address any disruptions or delays, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and trust.
- Prepare accurate and detailed sales forecasts, revenue reports, and performance metrics for senior management to guide strategic decision-making.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve internal processes, workflows, and customer service through innovative problem-solving and hands-on involvement.
Ideal Qualifications
A solid track record in logistics sales, with a deep understanding of freight transportation, trucking operations, and route planning.Hands-on experience or demonstrated capability in logistics operations, including dispatching, load planning, and freight coordinationcomfortable working "in the trenches" alongside sales activities.Strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate complex logistics solutions clearly and persuasively to diverse clients.A customer-centric mindset combined with problem-solving skills to quickly respond to client needs and operational challenges.Self-driven, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently while working closely with internal teams.Familiarity with cross-border logistics regulations and customs processes is a significant plus but not mandatory.No existing book of business is required; what matters most is your passion for logistics and sales, along with your willingness to learn and grow.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities and challenges.Compensation and Growth
