Job Description

We’re looking for a Head of Engineering who can balance hands-on execution with strong leadership across technology and team direction. This role is ideal for someone with a telephony / unified communications (UC / VoIP) background who thrives in fast-paced environments, is adaptable, and can deliver scalable solutions from the ground up.

You’ll be leading the technical direction across two key product verticals – Contact Center Solutions and Smart Payment Gateways. These are distinct but complementary domains, and experience in either (or both) industries is highly valued. With the company actively pushing AI adoption across its platforms, you’ll also play a key role in integrating AI-powered capabilities into core products to enhance automation, personalization, and decision-making.

Agile Development

  • Design, build, and scale core platform features while also leading engineering best practices.
  • Write production-ready code, make architectural decisions, review pull requests, and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, QA, and DevOps to ensure smooth delivery and alignment with business goals.
  • Lead the team in agile methodologies, including managing sprint cycles, backlog grooming, and task prioritization.
  • Work closely with the Product team to ensure clear communication of project requirements and timelines.
  • Continuously improve the team’s agile processes to enhance productivity and morale.

    • Leadership & Strategy

  • Mentor and support engineering team members while fostering a culture of ownership and innovation.
  • Help shape the engineering roadmap in close collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Align technical execution with customer needs and long-term company vision.
  • Provide strategic direction for the development team, ensuring alignment with company goals and product vision.
  • Drive best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment, ensuring the team adheres to these standards.

    • AI Development

  • Integrate AI capabilities into core products—such as using APIs or custom-built ML models—to improve features like intelligent routing, predictive analytics, chatbots, fraud detection, and data-driven insights.
  • Assess where AI adds the most value and work with cross-functional teams to implement these solutions efficiently.

    • Qualifications

  • 6–10+ years of engineering experience with the LAMP stack : PHP 8+ (Laravel framework), MySQL, Linux, and AWS.
  • Proven experience in telephony / unified communications (UCaaS, VoIP, PBX, SIP, call routing, IVR, etc.) and building or integrating communication platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating AI / ML capabilities into SaaS or telephony products.
  • Experience with Python (big bonus), Node, React, Angular, or jQuery is a plus but not required.
  • Healthcare or FinTech experience is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI / CD pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of web application architecture, microservices, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum / Kanban) and experience leading agile teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to work effectively across Product, DevOps, and QA teams.
  • Proven track record in mentoring engineering talent, fostering innovation, and driving cross-functional collaboration.
  • Highly organized and self-sufficient, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements.
