Position Summary :
The Sales Manager leads inside sales teams and performs vital functions in the business development and account management functions, ensuring the growth of both existing customers and the development of new customer accounts for continued organization growth and profitably.
General responsibilities include, but not limited to :
- Communicate and meet with high value clients (80 : 20) and new prospective customers to understand their requirements and strategic opportunities.
- Assist with the development of quotes for legacy or new projects including supply chain negotiations, follow up feedback on quotes and negotiate pricing, communicate with contacts to close new orders, and coordinate the handoff to the rest of our production team.
- Up to 30% travel visiting existing and new "A" list potential customers.
- Cold calling and support the marketing team's efforts in promoting company's activities.
A successful Sales Manager will have a broad knowledge of machine shop capabilities and be able to communicate effectively and strategically within the company. The incumbent has strong problem-solving skills, highly proactive, attention to details, have strong written and verbal communication and presenting skills, and be highly collaborative with internal and external team members.
This position is a very hands-on and high energy position and requires a high degree of multi-tasking to interact with clients, prospects, vendors, shop floor personnel, quality, purchasing and other manufacturing groups to ensure the most successful results for projects.

Job Requirements :
Preferred : Bachelor's Degree.Metal Industry : 5 years' experience minimum, preferably in distribution or fabricationSales with sales management : 5 years' experience minimumStrong track record of closing accounts in a wide range of industries.Management of Customer Service department personnel.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven presentation skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects effectively.Preferred : ERP experience (Global Shop Systems or similar).Preferred : CRM experience (HubSpot or other).Primary Responsibilities :
Communicate with clients about project requirements.Follow up and throughout the sales cycle with clients about quote process and status and to close projects in a timely manner.Manage client expectations and company requirements to ensure new project kick offs.Travel to prospect and customer accounts when needed to ensure strong partnerships.Report monthly on departmental metrics and present to management for feedback and strategic review.Collaborate with customers to identify improvement opportunities to help maintain consistently high levels of customer satisfaction and foster long-term loyalty.Work with the team in getting client information needed for quotes, new project kick offs, and ongoing orders.Conduct and Assess Customer Satisfaction Surveys.Develop existing accounts into strong partnerships to grow our share of business with them.Develop accounts across a wide array of industries to provide stability and long-term growth strategies.Work with the CEO to maintain strong profit margins on all customer projects.Keep abreast of the company's markets and competitors. Investigate and report on any important developments with potential value for the company.When warranted, recruit, coach and manage sales engineer(s), including the establishment of performance metrics, appropriate reporting tools, and technical and sales training.For direct reports, exercise the usual authority of a manager in terms of Human Resource situations, namely hiring, training, counseling, employee relations, performance evaluation, promotions, and terminations.Create and update Work Instructions to document processes accurately and improve efficiency.Additional Responsibilities :
Lead with research and development for strategic growth opportunities.Assist with OfficeTeam client communications to ensure customer satisfaction.Assist with the development and improvement of Work Instructions for key work processes in Sales and Customer Service.Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities throughout the sales and account development process.Attend and participate in organizational meetings within the company and with customers when appropriate.Conduct oneself in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.Work Authorization / Security
