Overview

Montech Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate to provide Professional Engineering Services in support of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) . The Project Manager will contribute demonstrated engineering and construction project management and technical support expertise to all aspects of healthcare construction projects. Services include, but are not limited to developing project documents, planning projects, preparing contract documents, managing project time frames and finances, providing construction inspection, and preparing project and asset management close out documents.

Place of Performance | Hours of Operation

The Engineering Project Manager s hall perform duties on site in Albuquerque, NM, Monday through Friday, between 8 : 00 a.m. – 4 : 30 p.m. daily, except U.S. Federal Holidays.

Summary of Responsibilities

The Engineering Project Manager shall provide professional engineering / architectural services for project management associated with various phases of healthcare construction projects. This is a non-supervisory position and the Engineering Project Manager will collaborate with key staff in the program management, project meetings, and maintenance recommendations. The Engineering Project Manager shall be able to perform the following tasks :

• Prepare contracting documents.
• Assess projects using Interim Life Safety Measures and recommend required measures.
• Assess projects for impact on healthcare infection control and recommend preventative measures.
• Perform code analysis as required for existing and new buildings and for new projects.
• Participate in negotiation of project pricing with contractors and recommend approval of negotiated price using RS Means.
• Monitor overall project flow and follow up on necessary items to assure time schedule is met.
• Will keep customers informed of progress.
• Maintain and update project files according to required standards.
• Perform plan and specification reviews of Architect / Engineer work on proposed projects.
• Attend pre-construction and progress meetings.
• Prepare reports (inspection and site visit).
• Perform investigation and resolution of problems or issues related to the design and construction phase of a project (may require a written report).
• Review the schedule of values and progress schedules provided by the contractor.
• Review pay requests and make recommendations for approval.
• Assure, during each site visit, the complete and current record drawings and specification are being maintained.
• Conduct labor interviews using standard U.S. Department of Labor forms.
• Review shop drawings submitted by contractors and recommend for approval.
• Review furnished data and literature on installed equipment and systems for completeness of operation.
• Prepare project closeout documents to account for capitalized project work.
• Receive assignments from technical supervisor to define project objectives, general methods, priorities, and deadlines for each project. Will discuss problems with technical supervisor before action is taken.
