The General Manager oversees the daily operations of our Austin cafes, ensuring exceptional hospitality, operational excellence, and team development. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment while fostering a supportive, inclusive workplace culture

Position Requirements
- Certified Food Handler’s License.
- Daily presence in the café with 3-4 days on shift, to provide operational oversight and support.
- Ability to communicate regularly with team members, including occasional weekends and after-hours as needed.
- Commitment to upholding and modeling our vision, systems, and culture.
- Demonstrated people management abilities with a focus on empathy, inclusivity, and respect.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay focused in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to participate in company events, meetings, and projects outside of day-to-day café operations.
- Extensive experience working with coffee at a professional level
- 4+ years of managerial experience in a café or restaurant environment
Core Responsibilities Operations & Finance
Manage ordering, invoicing, and inventory to control COGs and minimize waste.Oversee daily cash handling, sales reconciliation, and weekly financial reporting.Approve payroll and timecards, ensuring compliance with scheduling and labor law requirements.Execute weekly schedules, balancing service quality, labor targets, and coverage needs.Conduct accurate end-of-month inventory counts and financial reporting.Maintain store equipment, repairs, and preventative maintenance schedules.Ensure compliance with all local Department of Health regulations and standards.Partner with VP of Operations and People to roll out new menu items, systems, and initiatives.Team Leadership & Culture
Lead with empathy, professionalism, and consistency while fostering an inclusive culture.Recruit, onboard, and train employees in accordance with company standards.Conduct regular 1 : 1 check-ins, team meetings, and bi-annual performance reviews.Identify and support employee development opportunities, including cross-training and growth pathways.Serve as a role model by always embodying Black Fox Coffee’s values and standards.Compliance & Safety
Ensure all operations comply with health, safety, and labor requirements.Maintain a deep-cleaning and preventative maintenance schedule.Act as the first point of contact for all store-level employee concerns, escalations, and callouts.Business Development & Growth
Act as a brand representative in the Austin market, supporting community engagement and local events.Provide weekly reports to the VP of Operations and People covering wins, challenges, staffing, and upcoming needs.Monitor and maintain POS (Square), inventory platforms (MarketMan), and online ordering systems.Collaborate with leadership to execute catering orders, projects, and new initiatives.Compensation & Benefits
Salary : $70,000 annually (exempt, full-time, minimum 40 hours per week, with flexibility as business needs require).Performance Bonus : Up to 10% of annual salary, paid annually at the end of the financial year, based on key performance indicators (sales, labor targets, guest satisfaction, and team retention).o Meeting minimum projected sales figures

Paid Time Off (PTO) : 10 days annually, accruing at 0.4 days per week.
