Summary
Employee is responsible for assisting the Quality Manager in doing 8Ds, containment, creating control plans and their check sheets and PFMEAs in Plex, PPAP and other tasks as directed. Be able to fill in for the Quality Manager.
- Be able to perform all job requirements for an Auditor and Quality Control Analyst as listed in those position job descriptions.
- Work with vendor and customer quality departments to coordinate inspection techniques and paperwork.
- Complete Vendor 8D notifications and work with Quality Engineering to resolve vendor problems.
- Complete Customer and Supplier Complaint and Quality Alert forms and work with Quality Engineering to resolve these problems.
- Verify all prints, process sheets, inspection sheets and other documents to be correct and have the most recent revision levels.
- Develop and prepare Control Plan, PFMEA, and Process Flows in Plex
- Train inspectors and operators on Control Plan checks and use of gages
- Program and operate the CMM and help train other inspectors to use the machine.
- Prepare gage R&R studies and use computers for calibration requirements.
- Interact with customer concerns.
- Direct hourly personnel in absence of Quality Manager.
- Do all layouts and paperwork for PPAP submissions and help maintain proper paperwork files.
- Quality Inspection Technician has the authority to reject product, direct personnel, make decisions and direct other employees in the absence of the Quality Manager.
- Observes and complies with all company, federal and state safety and environmental policies and practices.
- Develops strong working knowledge of all relevant quality policies, procedures, and work instructions associated with the successful performance on this job.
- Maintains a clean, orderly and safe personal work area and shared facility space.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Good eyesight.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to place or position parts on surface plates or other inspection equipment.Ability to manipulate parts for sorting and inspection.Ability to climb up on trucks to measure and check incoming material before unloading and able to unload materials.Able to do general cleaning and housekeeping tasks.Meet the expected amount of quality and quantity of work.Knowledge on how to use micrometers, calipers, height gages, dial indicators, gage blocks, optical comparator and other inspection equipment.Understand and convert English and metric measuring systems.Good written communication skills and ability to read and understand blueprints.Understand and follow Material Safety Data Sheet requirements and all plant safety rules.Knowledge of Control Plans, PFMEA, and Process Flows.The ability to lift, bend, twist, walk and climb as required to perform the job.Accurately complete all documents such as job cards, inspection sheets and ages as required.Proper care for all company property.Able to use a surface plate and manual inspection equipment to layout parts.Understand and operate a personal computer.Ability to understand and analyze computerized information and SPC data.Ability to interface with customers to help resolve problems.Ability and knowledge to program and run a CMM.Existing employees will be grandfathered in based on job performance & experience necessary.Aids supervisor in identifying training needs. Attends and participates in all scheduled training and education programs identified for this position.Reporting Relationships

Education And / or Experience
Bachelor's degree or EquivalentEmployee must be able to verbally explain the company Quality Policy and SO Quality Management Systems.Mathematical Skills
Competency in high school algebra and trigonometry.Fundamental understanding of statistical techniques to a Green Belt Level.Judgment And Decision Making

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical equipment. The noise level in the shop s usually loud and the temperature may vary greatly. All necessary safety equipment must be used i the shop. Must respectfully represent client.Measurements Of Performance
