Senior Project Manager

Join a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as a Senior Project Manager, responsible for providing project management services in the delivery of a new healthcare building focusing on cancer care services. The total value of this new 575,000 SF facility is $815 million with an anticipated opening in 2027.

Essential Job Functions :

• Provide Project Management services for capital construction projects by managing cost, scope, schedule, resources, and risk. Candidate will develop and document intended scope, identify associated cost and schedule based on that scope and identify required internal and external resources required to deliver the scope. Candidate will identify risk to project deliver and develop mitigating strategies to avoid or minimize potential negative outcomes. Manage and report variance according to developed plan.
• Candidate will provide on-site supervision of construction phases by chairing owner-architect-contractor progress meetings to ensure the project is completed in a manner consistent with the contract documents and intended scope.
• Provide oversight to all project delivery activities, including support during planning and activation phases. Manage a matrixed organization for successful project delivery. These include resources internal and external to the department within the Medical Center enterprise.
• Direct and manage resources external to the enterprise such as contracted designers, builders, skilled trades and other professional service providers or vendors.
• Continually monitor outside influences such as regulatory agencies, market and technology changes that support or hinder the efficiently accomplishment of department process and procedures.
• Provide project controls by updating ledger software to monitor invoice and expenses. Manage and updating project schedules within identified software. Develop project charters to for scope identification and documentation. Manage and document project issues and risks. Provide change management by documenting alterations to project plan and maintaining up to date change logs.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, understanding interdependencies and constrained resources. Phase projects accordingly to meet client needs as they affect direct patient care.
• Perform other duties departmental duties as identified and assigned by senior management.

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
