Zero-Max is currently recruiting for a CNC Programmer / Set-up Technician.
As a key member of a machining team, the CNC programmer is a high-level position responsible for programming of CNC machines, the development of machine setup information, and works with engineering to ensure prints and routings are correct for operations.
Primary Responsibilities
Machining
Program CNC milling, and multi-turret / spindle turning centers using Gibbs CAMReview drawings and routings for manufacturability - communicate to engineering when changes are neededSelect tooling for different machining sequencesIdentify opportunities to optimize tooling and programming on existing partsEnsure accurate production standards are in ERP systemPerform time / motion studies and make recommendations for waste reduction and efficiency improvements in production processesSupport in-process inspection of machined productsKit and stage toolingSet-up and operate machines of a complex natureMaintain set-up sheets for new parts or design changesInstruct less skilled operatorsFollows Zero-Max’s core values of Provide Best in Class Service and Solutions; Hold Ourselves Accountable; Do the Right ThingRequirements : Qualifications
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Highly proficient with all less complex machines in the shop to be considered for this high-level positionStrong programming skillsMachine trade schooling with set-up and operation of complex multi axis CNC machineryMust have experience with Milling, Turning, and Multi-Turret or Mill Turn LathesMust have experience with Gibbs CAM or other CAM softwareProficient at determining tooling, process sequences, speeds and feeds, shop mathematics, and instruction to othersGood communication skillsEducation and Experience Required
Associate degree in Machining and 5-7 years’ experience with equipment of a complex nature; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceor 8-10 years’ experience with equipment of a complex naturePreferred Qualifications
Experience with Milling, Turning, and Multi-Turret or Mill Turn LathesMust have experience with Gibbs CAM or other CAM softwarePhysical Demands / Work Environment
