Business Development Director - Fund Services Solutions

As Business Development Director - Fund Services Solutions, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities for ZEDRA’s Funds division and the wider Group in the USA. This role is key to supporting the company’s growth strategy and promoting its culture.

Location : This position can be based out of any of the ZEDRA offices located in Boston (MA), Miami (FL), Charlotte (NC), or Cleveland (OH). Must be willing to travel as required.

Key Accountabilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with business introducers principally based in the USA such as asset managers, family offices, law firms, auditors, prime brokers and other industry related service providers;
  • Proactively engage in business development activities, identifying potential opportunities in both the funds industry and across all of ZEDRA’s service lines. Liaise with colleagues across the US and within the wider ZEDRA Group to ensure client structuring and service needs are effectively addressed using the Group’s capabilities;
  • Provide information to ensure any introduced business is commercially viable and that any complex technical matters are disclosed;
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal obligations promoting adherence to policies and procedure at all times;
  • Organize and / or represent ZEDRA at seminars, conferences and round table events showcasing thought leadership and expertise;
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the Business Development strategy for the ZEDRA fund business and the wider ZEDRA Group;
  • Take responsibility for ongoing personal development in partnership with the business, including meeting the associated Continuing Professional Development (CPD) obligations;
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, innovations and merger & acquisitions, advocating for continuous improvement to stay competitive in the global landscape;
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and identify areas for improvement in generating leads and closing of new business.

Knowledge and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of a proven track record in sales within the alternative investment fund industry and financial services environment with specific expertise in US funds;
  • Extensive knowledge across alternative investment fund structures and asset management including open, closed and evergreen fund structures, fund of funds, multi-strategy, and hedge funds; knowledge of offshore jurisdictions is a plus;
  • A flair for building and maintaining client and professional relationships and for developing new business;
  • Proven ability to convey a compelling story to prospective clients and professional business introducers through executive level presentations in PowerPoint or other formats.
  • Excellent organizational skills, creative but pragmatic approach with the desire to challenge the status quo to drive efficiency, increased performance and growth;
  • Proven ability to build and nurture relationships grounded in integrity, fostering trust and openness in clients, colleagues and intermediaries;
  • Highly self-motivated and disciplined, with a strong sense of personal accountability and drive for excellence;
  • Extremely detail-oriented with a high level of commitment and follow-through;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences (MS Office and other platforms);
  • Experience using a CRM to track activities;
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
