Cleary Gottlieb is seeking a dedicated talent professional to serve as a lawyer-focused support resource. This role is designed to support and enhance our associate recruiting, retention, and development initiatives.
Responsibilities
Summer Program :
- Act as lead professional support for the California summer associate program to plan office programs, monitor effectiveness of summer associate program, and work together with attorney development manager team on staffing needs
- Act as main California coordinator for summer associate and lateral associate recruiting
- Scale talent acquisition strategies as the summer class grows
- Serve as primary talent liaison for summer associates during the summer program, including facilitating and attending offsite recruiting and summer associate events on evenings and weekends
Associate Program :
Work with talent team to enhance overall associate experience and increase associate retentionPartner with the attorney development manager team to ensure California associates are provided timely comprehensive annual reviews, appropriate interim feedback, and development opportunitiesSupport U.S. talent teams as needed in California, including but not limited to certain onboarding activities and compliance supportProvide learning and development support for California attorneys, professional staff, and, as needed, for clientsSupport reporting functions related to associate performance and developmentIn-person assistance for California engagement, inclusion, and wellbeing initiativesQualifications
Talent / HR professional (3-7 years of experience)Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fieldExcellent interpersonal, client service, written and verbal communication skills, and strong problem solving skillsAbility to multi-task and prioritize numerous responsibilities with time-sensitive deadlinesPrevious law firm or professional services experience preferredBackground in program management or coordinationExperience with summer internship programs or associate development preferredProject management and organizational abilitiesData analysis and reporting capabilitiesGood judgment and strong attention to detailAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretionEnthusiasm and team oriented attitudeAbility to work independently and collaboratively across multiple departmentsProficiency in Microsoft SuiteThe estimated base salary for this position is $90,000 to $100,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of job-related factors, including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, and performance. This role is nonexempt meaning it is overtime pay eligible.
