IP Litigation Specialist — Houston, Texas (hybrid role possible)
A prestigious National Law firm is hiring for an IP Litigation Specialist in our Houston office.
Responsibilities
- Coordination of client estimates and accruals, as well as invoicing process
- Maintain and update files, including file openings and conflict checks in Intapp
- May assist with drafting engagement letters
- May assist with intake activities
- Schedule and coordinate travel arrangements for attorneys
- Oversee invoice payments / expenses / reimbursements (Chrome River)
- Coordinate tracking of CLE for assigned attorneys
- Coordinate project files, including drafting internal and external communications related to ongoing litigation tasks
- Draft and transmit legal documents, memoranda, and correspondence to clients, witnesses and court officials by electronic filing, fax, email, mail and / or messenger
- Assist in setting up review databases and archiving data as needed
- Analyze and generate reports from data, ensuring accurate and efficient data handling
- Draft basic search queries and collaborate with attorneys to identify relevant documents
- Conduct thorough quality checks on document productions to ensure accuracy
- Assist with calculating and managing litigation timelines
- Potential travel for assistance at depositions, mediations and trials
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
3+ years of related experienceResponsible for billing 450 hours / yearKnowledge of specific Intellectual Property rules and procedures, and ability to keep abreast of department guidelinesExcellent verbal and written skills, as well as administrative and management skillsExceptional typing skills; ability to draft and / edit documents accurately and quicklyMaintaining secondary docket and case and file management, including uploading email communications and documents to docketing and DMS systems, maintaining / updating files and client portals, and attending status meetingsAbility to set priorities, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects, including preparation and maintenance of internal docket reports, charts, and to-do listsAttention to detail in calendaring, meeting coordination, timesheet entries, travel plans, file openingsCreate, edit, format, and proofread documents, memoranda, correspondence, spreadsheets and presentations with high accuracyPrepare and circulate reporting letters to clients and / or outside counsel or vendorsCritical thinker who uses available technology and seeks to simplify tasks and increase efficiencyProficient in IP Docketing System, Intapp Time Entry, Chrome River, iManage, Adobe and Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookAnnual requirement of eight (8) hours of continued technical education through the firm's training departmentEmployees are expected to be available and maintain reliable attendance, including during scheduled work shifts and virtual communicationsCompensation
$80,000 to $100,000 annually plus overtime and bonus eligibility
