We seek an attorney to assist in our representation of labor unions. Based on skills and experience, the attorney will serve as the primary liaison between the firm and union executive boards, respond to critical incidents to represent members, attend union meetings, advise on contract violations, litigate disciplinary hearings, and other related matters. The ideal candidate has a background in law enforcement or experience working in a District Attorney's office. Labor law experience is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities :
- Serve as the main point of contact between the law firm and police unions, providing legal counsel and representation.
- Handle a variety of labor-related matters, including critical incident response, internal affairs interviews, grievance arbitrations and disciplinary hearings.
- Represent clients before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), Public Employment
- Relations Board (PERB), and other regulatory bodies.
- Prepare and file legal documents for arbitration, mediation, and administrative proceedings.
- Advise union leadership on internal operations, contract negotiations, and compliance with labor laws.
- Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and memoranda.
- Collaborate with the firm's broader legal team to deliver strategic legal solutions.
