This position is in the Rental Program Unit, at SCDMV Headquarters, Blythewood, SC.
Responsibilities of the Office Manager II :
- Oversees, inspects, and manages all aspects of plate stock and decal issuance to authorized companies.
- Conducts routine quality assurance (QA) inspections and reconciliation of authorized companies' title and registrations records for the plate program. Also conducts routine QA inspections for the counties (36) ensuring decal stock is adequately managed and secured.
- Ensures that quality measures are in place ensuring that plate stock is adequately managed and secured.
- Oversees assigned work unit to ensure all job functions meet established standards. Ensures relevant and concise, metric driven reports are generated and maintained weekly. Creates and refines metrics as program develops.
- Proactively communicates notable improvements, issues, and recommendations to the DMV senior leadership.
- Identifies, recommends, and implements improvements for communications and quality management methodologies. Incorporates quality assurance activities in all functional activities.
- Responsible for ensuring Employee Performance Management System (EPMS) reviews are completed by scheduled due date. Evaluates the work of employees, disciplinary action, reviews, approves or disapproves employee leave requests, and ensures adequate coverage for the work unit.
- Performs other related duties as directed.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Minimum Requirements :
A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted with prior approval.Agency Requirement :
Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include finger printing.Additional Requirements :
Knowledge of management principles, including the ability to manage personnel and processes.Extensive knowledge of the SCDMV titling and registration process and procedures; to include, but not limited to, ordering plate inventory, plate storage and secure room standards and onsite inspection requirements.Effectively communicate complex policies, procedures and program information to customers, stakeholders, and employees.Ability to diffuse problems that may arise within assigned unit or with stakeholders.Ability to write clear, concise reports and instructions.Under general guidance and minimal supervision, independently directs, performs and coordinates the operation of routine quality assurance inspections of rental car companies' and other authorized companies' plate management program.Responsible for supervising the work unit and the plate management program.Supervises the selection and training of new employees.Evaluates the performance of personnel. Communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality of files and records.Must display professional proficiency in all areas of job performance and possess good management skills.Works in a climate-controlled office environment. The work requires a significant amount of time spent at a computer terminal.May be required to work extended hours outside of the normal scheduled work week and periodic travel to company locations.Must be able to lift 10-15 lbs.Additional Comments
