Your role in the mission :
Type One Energy is seeking a Senior Accountant Financial Reporting to lead the company's day-to-day accounting operations, with a strong focus on accurate financial records, efficient month-end close processes, and effective internal controls. This role is critical to ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, managing general ledger processes, and supporting organizational readiness for scale and future audits.
The ideal candidate is a curious, flexible, and hands-on accounting leader with experience in operational accounting, team management, and international operations. They are a self-starter who thrives in a high-growth, dynamic environment and asks questions, seeks improvements, and takes ownership of outcomes. This person brings a proactive, solution-oriented mindset to streamline workflows, build scalable processes, and ensure compliance with internal policies and U.S. GAAP.
- Lead the monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, ensuring appropriate classification and alignment with U.S. GAAP.
- Oversee accounts payable processing, ensuring proper coding and alignment with FP&A and financial reporting.
- Perform and manage intercompany transactions, including reconciliations, eliminations, and consolidated reporting.
- Support both internal and external reporting, including variance analysis, management reports, and Board materials.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules as part of the close process.
- Lead audit readiness and coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely and compliant execution.
- Assist in implementing scalable systems and processes for public company readiness.
- Research and document technical accounting issues, including revenue recognition and equity transactions
- Prepare financial statements and disclosures in accordance with US GAAP
- Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, HR, Procurement, Legal, and Operations to ensure financial integrity.
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
What you'll need :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA and / or Master's degree preferred.Public accounting experience (Big Four preferred) is a plus.Minimum of three (3) years of public accounting and / or operational accounting experience.In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and standards.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex financial and operational challenges.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Detail-oriented with a commitment to financial accuracy and integrity.Experience working with accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Commitment to continuous learning and staying current on accounting regulations and industry trends.We offer :
