The Capital Markets team specializes in delivering customized capital solutions spanning the entire capital structurefrom growth debt and venture debt to equity private placements, LBO financings, recapitalizations, and capital structure optimizations. The firm seeks an exceptional Vice President with leveraged finance structuring expertise to join their Capital Markets team. This role offers a unique transition from product-focused structuring to client-facing advisory, where technical skills translate directly into trusted advisor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead relationships with technology company CFOs, treasurers, and private equity sponsors
- Originate capital markets transactions through proactive outreach and existing network leverage
- Develop and present sophisticated financing proposals tailored to strategic objectives
- Build and maintain institutional investor relationships across debt and equity capital providers
Structuring & Execution
Design customized capital solutions including growth debt, LBOs, acquisition financings, recaps, and equity placementsStructure complex credit agreements, intercreditor arrangements, and covenant packagesLead financial analysis and credit underwriting with focus on technology business models and unit economicsAdvise on capital structure optimization in connection with M&A, refinancings, and strategic eventsManage transaction execution from term sheet through closing, coordinating across legal, accounting, and banking partnersNavigate challenging financing situations requiring creative, differentiated solutionsTeam Development
Mentor Associate and Analyst team members on technical and client skillsLead internal deal teams ensuring excellence in executionContribute to firm intellectual capital and best practicesRequired Qualifications
6-10 years in leveraged finance structuring, debt capital markets, or related investment banking rolesStrong preference for candidates with leveraged finance structuring backgrounds including expertise in credit documentation, loan structures, and covenant negotiationsProven transaction execution track record, preferably in technologyDeep technical knowledge : credit agreements, first / second lien structures, unitranche, mezzanine, intercreditor agreementsExisting relationships within the technology finance ecosystem (CFOs, sponsors, lenders, investors)Bachelor's degree from a top-tier university; Series 79 and 63 (or ability to obtain)Exceptional financial modeling across various capital structuresOutstanding communication skills with C-suite presentation experienceAbility to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneouslyEntrepreneurial mindset suited to boutique environmentPreferred Qualifications
